This is the chipset in use for the Mercury brand MW150US USB modules being sold for use with the cubieboard now. I think they used to have the 8188CUS, but that chipset was changed out to the 8188EU in version 2. Seems that no one told anyone about the change. So they are still being sold as working with the Android installed on the NAND

I haven't gotten it to work yet, but I've got 13 of them. So it's worth figuring it out. Having a driver in the HW pack would be great.

I recently bought a TP-Link TL-WN725N v2 wifi dongle, which also uses the 8188eu chip. After some testing yesterday I managed to get it working in Arch Linux ARM by compiling the kernel module myself. I had to disable the power saving features to get everything to work correctly though.

I have written the steps on my webpage:

Hope this helps someone!

yes,it works normally only after you disable power saving

modify makefile
CONFIG_POWER_SAVING = n
or /and add modprobe.d
options 8188eu rtw_power_mgnt=0

Followed your advice I disabled power savings mode by default. Test and report any problems. I may add it to the repo after. Unfortunately I do not own an adapter to test. Cheers
