Linksys AE2500 - BCM43236

Postby eroci7 » Sat Mar 22, 2014 3:48 am

Hi,

I am new to linux and i got a beaglebone to experiment and learn. I am trying to use my Linksys AE2500 USB Wireless adapter on the beaglebone, but i am not sure what to do to get it working.

Doing a lsusb shows:
$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'lsusb
Bus 001 Device 002: ID 13b1:003a Linksys AE2500 802.11abgn Wireless Adapter [Broadcom BCM43236]')

But iw dev does not show any wireless devices, along with iwconfig. I tried looking through the broadcom wiki on the site, but i couldnt find much that can help me get it up and running.

Can someone help me and tell me what i should do / what i am doing wrong, or even if its possible to use this wifi adapter with archlinux arm?'

Thank you.

Looks like your chip is not supported: http://wireless.kernel.org/en/users/Drivers/brcm80211
(unless it's BCM43236 rev3 and according to this rev3 chips are BCM43236B)
