It's a small world after all

Postby rmcloud » Mon Apr 14, 2014 11:41 am

Looks like a small world in this corner of the arch universe...

Maybe if we post more when we have a question... more will come...

I have questions...

1. hnb outliner does not work well with armv7h... why?
2. vim-notes won't seem to work with vim-python2 on armv7h... I want to use voom on the same machine so this is a problem... Anyone?
3. why does x seem so hard to install for the beaglebone or beaglebone black... raspberry pi gets it the first time!
4. Anyone with experience working with BBB pru?

OK, I will stop now...

1) What? Provide more details.
2) Que?
3) Try installing what is needed. The Pi is a short bus case. (xorg-server, xf86-video-fbdev)
4) Not personally.

Please see !errormsg in IRC.

1. I get kicked out of hnb outliner for segmentation faults often... haven't exactly figured out why.
2. I had vim-notes plug-in working... really cool because you can easily jump between notes... wanted to try voom and now voom works but when I installed vim-python2 from AUR, yaourt complained that vim was in conflict with vim... of course. So I allowed the installer to delete the non-pythonated vim... after... voom worked... vim-notes didn't.
3. I have it working on the pi... for now, this is fine. Don't get me wrong... I am a big fan of archlinuxarm... but installing a wm for BBB is not trivial.
4. I want to control my home electricity with BBB's pru instruction set and whatever other tools are needed...

p.s. I want to ditch my mac and iPad because I think apple got alot of things right but way underestimate their users. If a person wants to get work done, they use the gcc toolchain and vim or emacs... period. Everything else is crap except, of course, sublime-text... but that requires x11 stuff.
