Odroid C1 freezes with modprobe from pwm

Postby Nobody93 » Tue May 04, 2021 8:36 am

Hello,

I have an actual Odroid C1+ with the actual Arch Linux running.
Everything runs as expected.

BUT: If I do a PWM modprobe as shown in the Arch Linux Wiki, the Odroid freezes.

Wiki: For two PWM (pins 33 and 19) and no SPI
Code: Select all
sudo modprobe pwm-peson npwm=2
sudo modprobe pwm-ctrl

Does anybody know why and is there a workaround available?

Thanks

I found now also the solution:

The pwm-peson was the wrong spelling. The correct one is pwm-meson.

NOTE: It is wrong described at Arch Linux Arm Odroid C1 Wiki.

However, if the pwm-meson kernel module is correctly loaded, then the pwm-ctrl kernel module also gets loaded.
If not, then the pwm-ctrl kernel module would crash the kernel.
