For that display you could try getting this program to work on Arch or make a Rasbian latest install as the above page suggests.

I prefer my 1024x600 hdmi touchscreen. A little pricey but the investment is definitely worthwhile.

The turbo is a heavily modified version of the fbdev driver, it may work but it is not intended for use on the pi specifically. If you have any issues with it (it may have missing features) then just use the standard fbdev driver.

I personally just use the standard driver.
