s5p-mfc firmware is not placed correctly

Postby frol » Mon Oct 24, 2016 11:12 am

I have Odroid U3 with the all latest updates and it seems from my experiments that `s5p-mfc*.fw` files should be placed into $this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', '/lib/firmware/s5p-mfc/') folder instead of $this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', '/lib/firmware/')

Otherwise, you will see the following message in dmesg and MFC won't work:
$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 's5p_mfc_alloc_and_load_firmware:44: Firmware is not present in the /lib/firmware directory nor compiled in kernel')

I cannot find an appropriate PKGBUILD for `linux-firmware` package. I have fixed the issue on my board by adding the relevant symlinks, but I would like this to be implemented for everybody.

Here are links to the related topics where others report that moving/symlinking helped them:
