Help Compiling Raspberry Pi Kernel

Postby Verequies » Mon Feb 20, 2017 12:03 pm

Hey Guys,

Kinda a newbie at this, but hey, I wanted to do it. I am trying to compile the Raspberry Pi 4.9.10 kernel from https://github.com/raspberrypi/linux/tree/rpi-4.9.y. To do this I am using the PKGBUILD and files from here - https://archlinuxarm.org/packages/armv7h/linux-raspberrypi/files - as a base. What I am stuck on is the kernel configuration, namely the config.v6 & config.v7 files. I am not sure how to generate them. However I believe they are based on bcmrpi_defconfig (RPi 1) & bcm2709_defconfig (RPi 2).

If anyone could help me figure this out, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Hamish

Please read the PKGBUILD, it is clearly stated how to update/alter them inside that file.

If you continue to have trouble, this script might be useful.
