new kernel / system freezes on heavy IO / cubox-i

Hi guys,

I've discovered a new problem with my cubox-i (4 cpu) with the latest kernel-upgrade:

On heavy IO the system freezes.

I used to do a backup with dd, without any problems:

# sudo dd if=/dev/mmcblk1 | gzip > /mnt/usb/cubox.img.gz

now, with the new kernel, the above command freezes after copying around 800 MB ... Then I've to unplug the device to get it running again.

I don't see any evidence why it freezes ... ioctl show just before freezing a 100% CPU process ... but I'm not sure if this means anything.

Any ideas?
