Installing osmc on armv7 Raspberry Pi

Postby fhuddles » Wed May 17, 2017 6:08 pm

I have a Raspberry Pi 3 computer with armv7l architecture, according to uname. I have not been able to install osmc, although by ignoring architecture, I have been able to install the osmcinstaller. It won't run though: gives error:
/usr/share/osmc/qt_host_installer: /usr/share/osmc/qt_host_installer: cannot execute binary file
I assume this is because it's an Intel 8386 executable. So I ask: is osmc just not runnable on ArchLinux with this architecture? It is offered as a download on the Raspberry Pi web site, and I think the repository they use there is the same as in the PKGBUILD, which is the one I used, via wget:
http://download.opensuse.org/repositori ... 7_i386.deb

Thanks for any help. I can provide more details about what I did to get it installed (as I remember them) if this will help.

Hello,

I'm not sure about osmc, but just to get kodi on the pi, it has its own package - kodi-rbp
