Kernel panic after enable_uart in Raspberry Pi 3

Postby mys721tx » Tue May 23, 2017 11:19 pm

Hello all,

I recently set up a Raspberry Pi 3 with the ARMv7 package. After I performed a system-wide update, I set enable_uart to 1 in config.txt and replaced all reference to ttyAMA0 to ttyS0 in cmdline.txt. However, after reboot it immediately had a kernel panic. I was able to capture only the last part of the stack trace as in the attachment.

I was able to use the serial console without any problem with the AArch64 package. I tried to set force_turbo in config.txt but it did not make any difference.

Could anyone give me some suggestions for how to solve this problem?

If you read the last 3 posts in this thread, there seemed to be a bug preventing the use of uart, but I don't know if it should be fixed or not already
