Backlight brightness setting not staying after reboot

Postby yaroze » Wed May 24, 2017 3:19 pm

Hi

I can change the brightness setting but every-time I reboot it is at the lowest setting again.

This is on a Asus flip chromebook.
I read I can set
Kernel parameters to one of these.

acpi_backlight=video
acpi_backlight=vendor
acpi_backlight=native

Where do I set these parameters I read I should have a boot.txt file in /boot but I do not have any .txt files.

If I create one what do I put in there the results of cat /proc/cmdline

Thanks

I managed to get round it with a .timer running a service after boot BUT still want to know how to persistently run kernel parameters if anybody does know?

If not yet present, create:

/etc/sysctl.d/kernel.conf

Inside you can customize some kernel options, just add a line, like:

kernel.printk= 2 4 1 7

More info here:
https://www.freedesktop.org/software/sy ... ctl.d.html
Or simple:
man sysctl.d

Hope it helps.
