$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('slydder', 'I') have build a new version of kodi 17.4. But I haven't managed to test it:
https://www.dropbox.com/sh/n8dspj1cbpjk ... t8iZa?dl=0

I tried your build but no joy, I'm getting this kind of error:

$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', '
shared memfd open() failed: Function not implemented
terminate called after throwing an instance of 'std::logic_error'
what(): basic_string::_M_construct null not valid
/usr/bin/kodi: line 175: 18335 Aborted (core dumped) "$LIBDIR/${bin_name}/${bin_name}.bin" $SAVED_ARGS
')

... and in the crashlog:
$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'ERROR: failed to initialize egl display
ERROR: Failed to find matching visual')

I'm actually using xf86-video-fbturbo-git, could be any issue with that?

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('erikfleischer', 'I') have managed to build kodi 17.5 on odroid c1.
Did you compile it on your board or with a cross build?

I have build it on my board using distcc to load off the compiling work as described in the archlinux arm dev wiki: https://archlinuxarm.org/wiki/Developers

Meanwhile I found the reason for the gui going dark after exactly 10 minutes: This is caused by the kernel blanking the console. Adding 'consoleblank=0' solves this. Additionally I have disabled console output on hdmi because the console was sometimes visible through the kodi gui.

My console options in /boot/boot.ini look now like this:
$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', '
setenv condev "console=ttyS0,115200n8 consoleblank=0" # on serial port
')

@erikfleischer would you mind to share the compiled package?
I'm having some trouble in the compile process.

@windozupdat3
What kind of trouble compiling do you have?

PS: you have a PM.

Thanks erikfleischer, your build is working fine (but I have to test it properly).
I think I have found the issue in my setup and I will try again building 17.6.

Maybe you could push the PKGBUILD in the official repo?

EDIT: I managed to build 17.6 unfortunately it doesn't start:

$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', '17:10:05.243 T:2947131584 NOTICE: InitWindowSystem: Using EGL Implementation: amlogic
17:10:05.243 T:2947131584 ERROR: InitWindowSystem: Could not get native window
17:10:05.243 T:2947131584 FATAL: CApplication::Create: Unable to init windowing system
')

From which source did you build? There is no 17.6 on https://github.com/Owersun/xbmc/. Without those patches kodi does not seem to run on the odroid-c1.

PS: kodi-c1-17.5 just hit the repos.

Seems to be a similar problem on the raspberry pi with vc4 enabled, but kodi loads fine with it disabled. kodi-rbp is at 17.6 in the repos

I have build kodi-c1 17.6. Seems to work just fine. If no problems show up, i will push this into the repos.
Meanwhile you can grab the PKGBUILD here: https://github.com/erikfleischer/PKGBUILDs
