GS problems when printing PDF's

Postby chemarb » Thu Aug 30, 2018 9:22 am

Hi.
I am trying to setup a print server on a Raspberri Pi. I have already setup CUPS and I can print from a Windows client, because the windows driver already processes the job and send raw commands to the printer.

But when printing locally, it never prints.

Looking at the CUPS error_log I can find the following:

D [29/Aug/2018:23:14:49 +0100] [Job 112] Error: /invalidfileaccess in --run--
D [29/Aug/2018:23:14:49 +0100] [Job 112] Operand stack:
D [29/Aug/2018:23:14:49 +0100] [Job 112] true (/var/spool/cups/tmp/gs_QUg5SK)

D [29/Aug/2018:23:14:49 +0100] [Job 112] Dictionary stack:
D [29/Aug/2018:23:14:49 +0100] [Job 112] --dict:996/1684(ro)(G)-- --dict:1/20(G)-- --dict:78/200(L)--
D [29/Aug/2018:23:14:49 +0100] [Job 112] Current allocation mode is local
D [29/Aug/2018:23:14:49 +0100] [Job 112] GPL Ghostscript 9.23: Unrecoverable error, exit code 1
D [29/Aug/2018:23:14:49 +0100] [Job 112] Rendering completed

I have been investigating. The printer uses EPL2, so the PDF gets processed by pdftopdf, and then gstoraster. Is that part of the proccessing that fails.

Any idea on what could be the issue?

I presume you should install the printer driver from CUPS.

Yes, is the Zebra EPL2 PPD from the CUPS distribution.
