Raspberry Pi 3 enable uart

Postby Footniko » Sat Jun 08, 2019 8:44 am

$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', '
uname -a
Linux alarm 4.19.46-2-ARCH #1 SMP PREEMPT Tue Jun 4 00:09:00 UTC 2019 armv7l GNU/Linux
')
I want to use direct UART on my RPi 3 to connect it with Arduino board. I have enabled uart in /boot/config.txt:
$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'enable_uart=1')
I have also replaced all references to ttyAMA0 by ttyS0 in /boot/cmdline.txt
After reboot I have kernel panic and the system doesn't boot at all. I saw similar posts on this forum dating years ago but there were no solutions. Is there any workaround on this in 2019?
