ASUS C100P Installation Issue

Postby mathfareswell » Wed Feb 03, 2021 6:11 am

Hello all,

https://archlinuxarm.org/platforms/armv ... flip-c100p

I followed this guide but my Chromebook still boots into ChromeOS at step 14 rather than into Arch. I hit control and U at the opening screen, but it just beeps and then boots into Chrome after awhile.

One issue I did have was the following error at step 8:

$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'partx -a /dev/mmcblk0
partx: /dev/mmcblk0: error adding partitions 1-2')

My SD card shows as mmcblk0 when I type lsblk, so I adjusted the directions accordingly. I had the same issue when attempting to use a USB, so I do not think a typo is at fault. Anyway, what do you think I should do differently? I searched Google and these forums but the issue doesn't seem to have been addressed.

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

I've now successfully gotten it to try to boot Arch (you have to make sure everything is going to the correctly specified partition, also reboot after step 8).

However, now it's stuck in a loop at boot. It just starts and stops Network Service. It says "See 'systemctl status systemd-netword.service' for details." But I can't access a command line or anything because it just keeps starting and stopping this service.
