getting picamera2 to work

Has anyone managed to get picamera2 to work? It's a damn rabbit-hole of missing python packages.

If they have it running on RPiOS, I would think that someone could create PKGBUILD for it to take care of deps. I am unaware of one.

yes, that one. There are a number of dependencies needed that are on PIP but do not build properly. I manage to fix 3 or 4 of them and get a PKGBUILD for the libcamera python binding and picamera2. I am, however, stuck on the python binding for cmake. There is a pypi package (simplejpeg) that requires the cmake python binding from pypi but that won't build in arch. It fails after two hours of compiling so it's also annoying to debug.

Is a non-pip route viable?
