Unable to access USB-CDROM

Postby dogrocket » Mon Jan 06, 2014 2:06 am

I have a usb-cdrom (lg-hitachi) and have been trying to get it to work with no luck. I'm using the latest arch kernel for beagle-bone black. I'm wondering if this has anything to do with it not being in the supported list or sr-mod module not being loaded into kernel. Its odd that in certain areas it recognized and in others its not.
Heres a list of info and things I've tried..., How can I fix or am I accessing wrong?

[root@hd-point dev]# wodim --devices
wodim: No such file or directory.
Cannot open SCSI driver!
For possible targets try 'wodim --devices' or 'wodim -scanbus'.
For possible transport specifiers try 'wodim dev=help'.

wodim dev=/dev/scsi0 --scanbus
wodim: No such file or directory.
Cannot open SCSI driver!

root@hd-point mnt]# mount -t iso9660 /dev/scsi0 /mnt/cdrom
mount: /dev/scsi0 is write-protected, mounting read-only
mount: special device /dev/scsi0 does not exist

[root@hd-point dev]# modprobe sr_mod
modprobe: FATAL: Module sr_mod not found.
[root@hd-point dev]# modprobe scsi_mod
(no response just comes back to command line)
