Do Arch Linux ARM have any plans to add the Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 system on a chip to the list of ARMv7 platforms.

If we get our hands on a board that uses it, that is not a phone or tablet, it's always a possibility. If you have such a system, you just need to bring your own 3.0+ kernel; our armv7h repository is fully compatible with any armv7 processor.

I have the New Nokia tablet from Windows RT 8.1 and was wondering if there was any possibility of booting to a Linux distro after circumventing any problems I might have with UEFI.

I ask the question as the CPU instruction set is ARMv7 and there was a long list of releases when I browsed the site.

I'm not a programmer but if I can get around the boot loader then accessing a remote server with the tablet seems like it could be lot of fun.

But it seems from your reply that you have nothing to do with tablets or phones.

No, we don't mess with phones or tablets, and certainly not the locked-down RT garbage. Return it for something Android you can root, you'll have more luck.
