on reboot pdnsd + zoneminder fail to start,

Finally got zoneminder, built from source, up and running but it never restarts properly upon reboot, it seems the mysql database isn't ready yet for connections as it can't connect to the db. If I restart it manually its fine.

Just installed pdnsd and a simular issue, the eth0 isn't yet ready, but again I can restart it manually...

I'm useing netctl and a dhcp connection can't see any error messages upon startup or any delay in getting the network.
Any ideas, where else to look ?
