Utilite *Appears* Frozen on Boot

Postby joshbradfield » Thu Jul 31, 2014 9:41 am

tldr: boot normal, after printing "Starting Permit User Sessions..." nothing happens.

I recently purchased a Utilite "value" box.

I followed the instructions, downloaded the latest package, formatted a new SD card, loaded the boot and root partitions etc.

uBoot appears to work fine (i'll admit i dont know how to judge this) loads the image and starts the kernel.

I get the "Welcome to Arch Linux ARM!" message, the system appears to boot normally (compared to my desktop Arch installation) but after printing "Starting Permit User Sessions..." nothing happens.

I cannot find the device on the network using nmap and my router does not recall giving out any new ip addresses.

Whats the best way to approach this problem?

Re: Utilite *Appears* Frozen on Boot

Postby joshbradfield » Fri Aug 01, 2014 5:29 am

Ran bad blocks on the SD card
$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', '# badblocks -vw /dev/sdb')

Finished with 0 bad blocks found (0/0/0 errors) So looks like the card is fine...
