Odroid C1 and transparent text in Java

Whenever I run any Java Swing apps on my C1, all text is transparent, such that the desktop wallpaper bleeds through. Also, the borders of buttons appear transparent and you can see the wallpaper through them.

When testing the Mesa Demos, I noticed that the Glxgears window also has a transparent background.

I'm using the xf86-video-odroid-c1 video driver and running jdk7-openjdk.

Has anyone else run into this issue?
