Raspberry Pi 2 pacman failure for package "dialog"

Postby dwduack » Sat Mar 28, 2015 6:26 pm

My Pi2 is running a fresh install. I tried using ssh then pacman to install "dialog" to get wifi menu going but the package pacman was going to download was dialog-1:1.2_20150125-1-armv7h.pkg.tar.xz. Looking at the mirror's directory the package listed for dialog under armv7 is dialog-1:1.2_20150225-1-armv7h.pkg.tar.xz. Notice the difference is the date being 20150225 in the mirror and 20150125 in what pacman is attempting to get. I will use pacman -U with the proper name but feel this may be a typo somewhere and bears mentioning...

Likely, your mirror is out of date. Try select one in /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist by uncommenting it and moving it above the currently uncommented one. Then `pacman -Syyu dialog`

His package list is out of date, not his mirror.

Thanks, all. Noticed the problem on another package and knew it was likely me, very rusty on pacman. I'll do more research before posting...
