Best configuration for Arch Linux ARM + Raspberry Pi + Kodi?

Postby Espionage724 » Wed Aug 12, 2015 5:42 pm

I'm working on trying to get a good setup for a RPi2 I have with Kodi. For a up-to-date version of Kodi, it seems my only options are to either use non-official builds of OpenELEC, or Arch Linux ARM, and the latter sounds more appealing.

I have Arch set-up on the Pi now, and it seems to work well, but there's just two concerns I have:

- Kodi has no restart option or anything aside from Exit. This makes trying to restart Kodi with a standard Kore remote difficult. I would prefer to have Kodi be able to restart the OS via the GUI option, but perhaps a restart script to run after a certain period of time would be nice.

- On a 4:3 screen with 16:9 content being played, there is black bars (which isn't a problem), but on these black bars, you can somewhat see Arch's console in the background. Is there a way to hide this console text?
