u-boot and vmlinux.kpart

Postby doragasu1 » Sat Oct 17, 2015 10:04 am

I have been running alarm on a Samsung Chromebook (XE303C) without ChromeOS for a long time. I flashed, u-boot removed ChromeOS and installed alarm on the internal storage.

Now I'm trying to reinstall alarm from scratch. I have prepared a USB pendrive as described on the front page, but cannot make it boot. It looks like u-boot doesn't understand kpart partition (or I don't know how to make it load the partition), and I don't know how to extract the files from this partition to write them to a "traditional" FAT partition for u-boot to load it.

Any suggestions on how to solve this problem?

I tried googling, mounting the kpart file using loopback method (-o loop) and extracting the kernel using compression tools without luck... Any hints would be welcome!
