php 7 and older versions...

Postby andreask » Sat Jan 30, 2016 8:47 pm

Hi,

Is there a way to have php 7 (latest stable version???) and previous version(s) installed and usable at the same time?
The problem is that I serve some personal stuff on my rasp pi 2 that I think they are not compatible with php 7 thus they do not work right now.
I've seen some an option where you can choose the version of php through the cpanel on the hosting provider that I use.
Can something like that be accomplished?

Thanks in advance!

Hi,

I think this could be done by AUR packages only, there seems to be all php5x version available, configured to run alongside upstream php. But I didn’t test it.
From the other point of view, it could be easier to fix the old code, than maintaining two php version.

Hi Viky,

Thanks for your answer...
Unfortunately it's not possible, I am hosting a phpbb forum so I do not maintain the "code".
I will ask phpbb it's somehow possible to fix this on that level.

Thanks again!
