Zedboard DNS problem

Postby hsynalkan » Mon Jun 22, 2015 5:26 am

Hi,
I have install archlinux on zedboard and I can ping to 8.8.8.8 or any other known ip, but when I try to ping www.google.com or yahoo.com, it gives "ping: unknown host google.com".
I try many topics in forums and wiki, but can not solve that problem.
anyone can help about that problem.
thanks

How many DNS servers come up in your network config? There is a known issue with 3+ DNS servers interefering with systemd-resolved (bug, I will have to hunt down the tracker)

this is output of resolv.conf:

Code: Select all
>cat /etc/resolv.conf
# Generated by resolvconf
domain myfirm.local
nameserver 192.168.4.12
nameserver 192.168.4.6

and;
Code: Select all
ip link
1: lo: <LOOPBACK,UP,LOWER_UP> mtu 65536 qdisc noqueue state UNKNOWN mode DEFAULT group default
    link/loopback 00:00:00:00:00:00 brd 00:00:00:00:00:00
2: eth0: <BROADCAST,MULTICAST,UP,LOWER_UP> mtu 1500 qdisc pfifo_fast state UP mode DEFAULT group default qlen 1000
    link/ether 00:0a:35:00:01:24 brd ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff

on the other hand, when system booting, these messages may be the reason of problem;

Code: Select all
Starting Network Name Resolution...
[FAILED] Failed to start Network Name Resolution.
See "systemctl status systemd-resolved.service" for details.
         Stopping Network Name Resolution...
[  OK  ] Stopped Network Name Resolution.

and
Code: Select all
systemctl status systemd-networkd.service

Yeah, I would say that is a bit of an issue.
