Plex Package Available for C2?

Postby cachedrive » Sun Dec 04, 2016 1:25 pm

I recently installed ALARM on my C2 so I can retire my Raspberry Pi 3 for something else. I really wanted to enjoy the actual 64-bit architecture and additional hardware however I soon realized there wasn't a Plex package available for my C2 in the Arch repos for my C2. On my RPi3 ALARM install, the package was available or ported likely from an AUR mirror but I didn't check / verify.

Is it possible to get Plex running on a C2 running ALARM?

Plex does not ship the binaries for AArch64 at this time, and this is why they are in the 'armv7h' repo that the Pi 3 (being still 32-bit due to VideoCore bits only being armv6hf/armv7hf-fastpath compatible).

It's sad. I am really hoping more things support AARM64 arch soon. It's been out long enough and the fact that the RPi3 is STILL 32-bit despite being 64-bit is not a good sign. I thought the popularity of the RPi would have sped up 64-bit for everyone...at least the C2 has a full based 64-bit OS even if it lacks some critical packages I need on a SBC.
