Can't boot after linux-odroid-c1-3.10.80-2 install

i have reinstall the sd image boot from scratch but after upgrade from 3.10.79-3 to 3.10.80-2
odroid-c1 wan't boot , no video output on hdmi

I had this too installed the kernel and <crap> goes and dies after, connecting the uart and connecting via usb/serial shows that a kernel panic takes place.

As a work-around I have (for now) added the linux-odroid-c1 package to the IgnorePkg section of pacman.conf which allows the update to take place.

guys REALLY stop breaking kernel package.

it is definitelly bad that i need to boot rescue cd on my pc to reinstall kernel after such updates.

if you want to bump kernel PLS TEST IT.

it is definitelly bad that i need to boot rescue cd on my pc to reinstall kernel after such updates.

if you want to bump kernel PLS TEST IT.


This is an unfortunate side-effect of teh bleeding edge, ALARM is a pretty niche distro and iirc pretty much the work of less people than I have fingers on one hand, besides whats a little breakage between friends lol

@slackwareuser : there is an ARM based slackware, if you want.

MrRee is right. Sometimes this happens. We recompiled the existing kernel version with GCC 5.1 and magically it decided to fail on a new null pointer dereference. There was no compilation issue, only then did this happen.
