Request, RPi2 owner

Postby graysky » Tue Nov 30, 2021 11:18 am

Would someone who owns a RPi2 be willing to try booting the linux-rpi package? If it does not boot, you should know that in order to recover, you will need to mount the uSD card from another ARM device (both / and /boot) and use arch-chroot to recover. Alternatively, you can just insert the card into a more modern device (RPi3 or 4) to switch back to linux-rpi-legacy.

If you would like to test this for me, please post the output of:
$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'grep Model /proc/cpuinfo')
and
$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'uname -a')

It's headless and running some webscraping python scripts and mutt. All seems to work well after the change.

Just in case:

$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', '
[user@PC15 ~]$ cat /boot/cmdline.txt
root=/dev/mmcblk0p2 rw rootwait console=serial0,115200 console=tty1 selinux=0 plymouth.enable=0 smsc95xx.turbo_mode=N dwc_otg.lpm_enable=0 kgdboc=serial0,115200
')
and
$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', '
[user@PC15 ~]$ cat /boot/config.txt
# See /boot/overlays/README for all available options

dtoverlay=vc4-kms-v3d
initramfs initramfs-linux.img followkernel

[pi4]
# Run as fast as firmware / board allows
arm_boost=1
')

Please let me know if you need more testing.
