Lirc ceases to function after update. Rpi2

Postby dustovich » Sat Jul 16, 2016 3:10 am

Hey All,
Since the last time I did the ol' 'pacman -Syu' my remote quit working. I did notice that in the packages that lirc was updated. I am using the built in lirc_rpi driver with gpio input.

The old original working lirc_options.conf was overwritten with a default version. To restore functionality you need to change the driver from 'devinput' to 'default' and optionally change the device from 'auto' to '/dev/lirc0', but should work without it. YMMV. (Or restore from your backup....ahem) May also need to rename/remove the devinput configuration file from the lirc.conf.d folder also, didn't test without though.

Hope this helps someone.

Thank you for posting. This solved the issue for me.

EDIT: Ah, I spoke too soon. Changing these lines in 0.9.4a causes each key press on my remote to be doubled!
