Pi 3B after upgrade mmal hardware decoding is broken

Postby acconciox » Fri Jul 26, 2019 11:49 am

Hi, i have 2 Pi 3B, if i upgrade these packages:
$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'linux-raspberrypi-4.19.50-1-armv7h.pkg.tar.xz linux-raspberrypi-headers-4.19.50-1-armv7h.pkg.tar.xz raspberrypi-bootloader-20190611-1-any.pkg.tar.xz raspberrypi-bootloader-x-20190611-1-any.pkg.tar.xz raspberrypi-firmware-20190611-1-armv7h.pkg.tar.xz')
mpv + ffmpeg crashes is not able to access mmal hardware decoding, i recompiled, but the only solution is to downgrade back to old packages.
the hardware decoding mmal is broken, i have to downgrade to

$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'cd /var/cache/pacman/pkg
sudo pacman -U linux-raspberrypi-4.19.50-1-armv7h.pkg.tar.xz linux-raspberrypi-headers-4.19.50-1-armv7h.pkg.tar.xz raspberrypi-bootloader-20190611-1-any.pkg.tar.xz raspberrypi-bootloader-x-20190611-1-any.pkg.tar.xz raspberrypi-firmware-20190611-1-armv7h.pkg.tar.xz')

i asked on github
https://github.com/raspberrypi/linux/issues/3105

i had this answer "If it works on Raspbian then you'll have to ask the Arch devs, but it does sound like it could be caused by the new VMSPLIT_3G + LPAE + HIGHMEM settings they've switched to to match the Pi 4."

but i dont have raspbian so i dont know what to do.

thanks for help :)
