[RPI2]Kodi crash with last raspberry firmwares

Postby Elrondo46 » Fri Jan 10, 2020 9:19 am

Hi,

There is crashes in playback (Segfault of mmal library) with last firmwares including the raspberrypi-firmware-20200106-1.

I actually use raspberrypi-firmware 20190921-1 without problems or segfaults.

Can you solve this problem with last firmwares, this is simple to reproduce this bug, notice I don't have crash with my Rpi4 (of course it's not the same firmware package :) )

ahh, I had a problem with DHCPCD and IPV6 (tentative state with address already in use) the problem is solved with the latest update (I loke to finish with a positive note :) )

I'm having Kodi issues as well on my RPI3.

After a few hours, the interface becomes slow, playback is choppy and Kodi will crash when playing a video. (while cpu usage is low, no other program is running or eating memory).
No segfaults though.

I tried downgrading to raspberrypi-firmware 20190921-1, and that didn't work for me :(
I tried several other versions and the issue remained unchanged.

After a reboot, everything works fine, until the next day.

Cannot help you without a kodi debug log and journactl output for that boot.
