Recommended way to install Kodi on RBP2

I have a raspberry pi II and would like to use Kodi with an external USB soundcard. What is currently the most recommended way to use it? I've tried both kodi-rbp and kodi with kodi-standalone-service. Kodi rbp produces lots of noise over the audio jack and doesn't allow me to input the device name with an external keyboard. Does this build support external soundcard at all? It seems that both pulse-audio and alsa are disabled during build.
Kodi with kodi-standalone-service uses X.org and that doesn't seem to start at all.

Since no one else has answered you, I will make a couple suggestions even though I have no experience with Kodi or it's predessor XBMC.

Did you read and follow the steps in the Arch Wiki about Kodi?

Not sure what you mean about pulse-audio and alsa being disabled during build. From what I can read, alsa is still there. You may have to use pacman to install alsa-utils. Have you seen the following page?

Alsa support has recently been added now indeed. Also i've got feedback on the issue tracker how to enable the keyboard, i had to chmod /dev/tty0 and now created an udev rule for it. IN other words, kodi-rbp is the recommended method. Thanks for your help.
