X slow

Hi everyone!

X is slow on my raspberry pi 2, does anyone have an idea why?

I was advised to install fbturbo but then it was even worse so now I'm back to fbdev.
Terminal vim is slow to respond and I can't watch (youtube) videos (well I can but in slow motion).

What should I install/do?

Install and run "top", it can show you what is using the most CPU/memory.

Thank you for your reply, I don't think I'm using that much CPU or memory.

My experience is from old model B, but seems to me luakit should not be using 49% of your Pi's memory. How many tabs do you have open?

You also might examine the output of the free command under various conditions, the less free buffer space on my pi, the slower my Pi.

I solved my problem. For some reason, i3 is a lot faster than awesome.

My video problem came from the fact that I wasn't using omxplayer.

I think I just didn't understand what the pi could or couldn't do, but I think I understand better now.
