I managed to get audio out but always with crackling and pops, less now, but very annoying.

How to get pop and crackling free sound over USB?


My /etc/asound.conf

I haven't tried over USB before, just HDMI or combined out both of which without problems as you are describing. A few thoughts:

1) Is it true when you try other USB connectors?
2) Could the problem lie with the USB cable?
