Odroid N2: No X driver for the Mali G52 GPU?

This Odroid blog article (https://www.hardkernel.com/blog-2/odroid-n2/) states that "There will be a Linux Wayland driver a few months later. We are intensively working on it together with Arm and Amlogic. Unfortunately, there is no X11 GPU driver since Arm has no plan to support X11 for Bifrost GPUs anymore. We hope that the Panfrost open source driver can be ported to ODROID-N2 soon.".

For such a new flag-ship Odroid release, I'm really surprised that there was not a Mali G52 GPU driver for X11 from day one. And even if they release a Wayland driver, Wayland support across the entire ecosystem is sketchy at best.

So what is the recommended solution for X11 support? xf86-video-fbdev?

I managed to find this on the ARM developers site: https://developer.arm.com/tools-and-sof ... ost-kernel

xf86-video-fbdev works

I have an LXDE install running on it and have been able to use chromium and such without issues on it

I don't think they were going to support an X11 driver for the N2
