I created an SD card with ArchLinuxARM-aarch64-latest.tar.gz according to https://archlinuxarm.org/platforms/armv8/broadcom/raspberry-pi-4. When I boot the RPi 400 from this card, the following messages come up once:
$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', '
board: ...
boot: node USB-MSD 4 order f41 retry 0/128 restart 7/-1
sd: card detected ...
part: 0 mbr [...]
fw: start.elf fixup.dat
net: down ip: 0.0.0.0 sn: 0.0.0.0 gw: 0.0.0.0
tftp: ...
')
The following message are repeated:
$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', '
Trying partition: 0
lba: 2048 oem: 'mkfs.fat' volume ' v ^'
rsc 8 fat sectors 200 c-count 51145 c-size 8 r-dir 1 r-sec 32
Firmware not found
USB2[1] 400202e1 ...
USB2 root HUB part 1 init
...
')

"Firmware not found" sounds like a broken sdcard, broken partition/filesystem or broken files in the 1st boot partition.
I suggest you retest with another card.

BTW,
I fall yesterday in the same sinkhole: I tried an RPi 400 aarch64 install and got still the same invalid bus width issue.... :(

@graysky:
Would it be possible, without much trouble and without much time, to publish an aarch64 install image with linux-rpi instead of linux-aarch64 ?

This would save a lot of trouble posts here, about broken hw with vanilla kernel. Also it would be still possible to switch from linux-aarch64 to linux-rpi later for advanced users, but with the advantage to start with a working system :D

I'm willing to test...

I have tried the Aarch64 latest image in a normal SD card on a NEW vanilla RPi 4B 4GB (likely manufacturered 2021/2022, and it has the new C0 step revision that 400s also have).

It also spams "invalid bus width, error -22 wilst initialising SD card" during boot and is unable to continue. So aarch64 image is completely borked for any new RPis atm.
