Boot freezes on "Current system time is before build time.."

I nuked an SD card (wiped the first 2.2GiB) for my RPi3B+ and put the ALARM rootfs files onto it. Here's my setup:
1. SD Card: SanDisk Extreme 64 GB
2. Partition layout:
160 MiB type W95 FAT16 (LBA) with FAT16 fs for boot files;
The rest of the card allocated as type Linux with Btrfs for root.
Fstab was configured to use UUID to locate and mount the partitions.
3. I chmod 7777'd both the target partition's mountpoint and the copy source(unpacked rootfs).
4. The copy was also done on an Arch Linux ARM host.
5. Other things about the target rootfs were kept as-is upon copy.

Phenomenon:
after$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', ':: running cleanup hook [udev]') information about my usb keyboard and mouse popped up along with
$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'random: crng init done')
and then the log freezes here:$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'Current system time is before build time, but cannot correct: Operation not permitted')
It didn't "completely" freeze though. Unplugging the SD Card led to a message indicating the card being removed. And nothing else.

Is there any fixes for this? (I can't directly access the ALARM Wiki :( )
