rpi4-eeprom and rpi5-eeprom

What are the two packages rpi4-eeprom and rpi5-eeprom used for? Is it just used to define the boot order of BOOT_ORDER=0xf41? Can you tell me what it does? Because even if I don't install it, archlinux runs well on my Raspberry Pi 5

These are used to update the on-board firmware for each model. See:
