Rpi5 not booting

Postby feenix3k » Tue Jan 21, 2025 11:40 pm

I got arch arm installed on a ssd.But when I boot it hangs in a boot loop. The error says os does not indicate support for Rpi5.. Then says try changing os_check=0 in config.txt. I tried this and it doesn't get to the boot screen. I am new at this so I am a bit lost.

Do you have access to another aarch64 device? I suspect the problem is that the mainline kernel on the image does not support RPi5B. If you can chroot into it and install linux-rpi or linux-rpi-16k you should be fine.

I was thinking the Rpi5 was too new. I am going to drop back to a Rpi3 B to get the basics learning in for Arch.
