rpi5 and Mainline kernel

Postby illusoryseafloor » Fri Feb 14, 2025 1:37 pm

Has anyone tried to use Archlinux and the main line kernel in Raspberry Pi 5? Can you tell me what's going on now?

Is there a very good reason to use that, and not the rpi specific kernel?

The current support for Rpi 5 on Mainline is just usable for Kernel developers (Debug UART, SD card). I think it will took months before it's reach a testable level.

I have attempted to boot the mainline kernel from the alarm repo on a raspberry pi 5.
It could not locate the root file system, so it seems, SD is not supported yet.
