Missing cursor in fresh image of ODROID-C2

I just imaged a fresh SD card (no modifications to the files from ArchLinuxARM-odroid-c2-latest.tar.gz) and when I look at my monitor after logging in as either root or alarm, there is simply no cursor present. I found several threads describing this with no solution and several with solutions that didn't work for me (ie viewtopic.php?f=63&t=8389). Has anyone solved this?
