Network/bridge configuration on Espressobin

Postby jernst » Thu May 18, 2017 3:58 am

I'm attempting to configure Ethernet port 2 and 3 on the Espressobin in a manner that is not a bridge (ArchLinuxArm's default), and I realize I do not understand how Linux deals with hardware switches. I read up on dsa.txt [1] and switchdev.txt [2] but it wasn't terribly helpful.

Some random questions:

1. Is there a command by which I can list the "other" interfaces (lan0, lan1) and not just the primary internet (eth0)? ip list and friends do not seem to want to show them, but they exist, otherwise they couldn't be bound connected with the bridge device br0...

2. If I wanted to take lan1 down, how would I do that? ("ip down" doesn't work as it does not know about lan1)

3. If I wanted to, say, allocate static address 192.168.1.1 to lan0 and 192.168.2.1 to lan1, how would I do that? Is that even possible?

Any user-level pointers would be greatly appreciated... Thanks,

Johannes.
