RTC shield no longer working on Odroid C2

Postby campbell » Tue Nov 28, 2017 10:07 pm

In both the 3.14.79-27-ARCH and 4.14 mainline kernels, we are now getting "hwclock: ioctl(3, RTC_UIE_ON, 0) to /dev/rtc0 failed: Invalid argument". Observed on multiple boards and multiple RTCs. This is a new issue within the past month.

Update: kernel 3.14.79-28 (released 14 hours ago) seems to fix it. The code for hwclock hasn't been updated in a month. I'm guessing the change to hwclock a month ago is what broke it, and the new kernel fixes it. There is an upstream change to hwclock in util-linux that may also fix it but hasn't made it to the Arch repo yet.
