I found using fbturbo driver to work quite well - even in Openbox moving windows. Chromium (about:gpu) shows no hardware acceleration unfortunately. I also enabled (in about:flags) the "Override software rendering list"-option and start Chromium with the command-line argument "--use-gl=egl"

(source: https://forum.odroid.com/viewtopic.php?f=112&t=8267)

In Chromium scrolling works okayish, Youtube is alright, but not great. Don't expect video acceleration.

That's for the C1 though, not the C2, right??

Ah, you are right. That would be the reason it never worked for me xD

If you are still interested - I always had the problem, that Chromium is allocating loads of memory for basically no pages whatsoever. I dug a bit in the about:flags to try and solve that, and it actually worked.

I switched:
Override software renderling list - enabled
Zero-copy rasterizer - enabled (this probably had the biggest impact)
Force color profile - sRGB (probably has no impact or even a negative one)
Parallel downloading - enabled.

Also: I use uBlock as adblocker, not Ablock. uBlock uses way less memory. Chromium is now useful to browse the internet on the C2, before the system began thrashing when I opened more than 5 pages (or so). Didn't feel slowdown to "default" configuration.

Interestingly enough, I find the performance when chrome tries to use the GPU acceleration for anything horrible. I switch Override software renderling list off again, to ensure, that Chromium does not even try. (see about:gpu to see if it tries to use the hardware acceleration).

Oh btw. I'm using the fbturbo driver. So mileage may vary. I found X to be more responsive with that driver.

Yep, me too.

xf86-video-fbturbo-odroid-c2-git

To be exact. ;)
Chromium is a lot faster now, though.
