Configuration Waveshare 5-inch HDMI touch screen on RPi 3B+

Postby knowledgeispower » Mon Apr 15, 2019 1:07 pm

Hi.

I want to use RPi 3 B+ (ARMv8-A, BCM2837B0) and Waveshare 5-inch HDMI touchscreen.
I use LXQT + SDDM.

I read this thread: viewtopic.php?f=60&t=9246

Should I edit configuration to this?

In /etc/modules-load.d/raspberrypi.conf

$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', '
bcm2708-rng to bcm2837b0-rng
snd-bcm2835 to snd-bcm2837b0
i2c-bcm2708 to i2c-bcm2837b0
')

In /boot/config.txt

$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', '
device_tree=bcm2709-rpi-2-b.dtb to device_tree=bcm2837b0-rpi-3-b.dtb
')

Thanks for help!

Hi

I have a Waveshare 7 inch.

Might be the same config ... not sure.

Change / Add the ...
$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'nano /boot/config.txt')

$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', '#gpu_mem=64
initramfs initramfs-linux.img followkernel
gpu_mem=256
max_usb_current=1
hdmi_cvt 1024 600 60 6 0 0 0
hdmi_group=2
hdmi_mode=87
hdmi_drive=1')

You may have to change ...
$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'hdmi_cvt 1024 600 60 6 0 0 0')

That's actually the only file which need to change.

But like I said, I'm not sure.

Good luck,
Dan

Which DE do you use?

I tried LXQT with SDDM and XScreenSaver and nothing works for me.

I'm sorry I haven't read properly.

I don't use a gui. Is the terminal displayed?
