RPi4 - Anyone able to get full resolution in any DE?

Postby graysky » Sat Jul 20, 2019 2:10 pm

I have been trying to get lxqt (openbox) to run in the monitor native 2560x1440 but it seems confined to only 1 low resolution of 576p. Seems like other standard resolutions such as 1920x1080 for example should be supported. I'm wondering if I am missing some driver? Note that I had to install xf86-video-fbdev in order to get anything at all to display.

EDIT: I added the following lines to /boot/config.txt (following the example from Raspbian) and it worked upon a reboot.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', '[pi4]
# Enable DRM VC4 V3D driver on top of the dispmanx display stack
dtoverlay=vc4-fkms-v3d
max_framebuffers=2')

Thanks for the tip. With FKMS I even have my usual Sway (Wayland i3 WM clone) setup running. I just wish the V3D Mesa driver supported OpenGL 3.3 and GLSL 330 to have Alacritty running.
