about linux-aarch64-5.10.8-1 and uboot-raspberrypi-2021.01-1

Hi all,
I just wanted to share my experience with the latest update from yesterday which is :
linux-aarch64 (5.8.9-2 -> 5.10.8-1)
raspberrypi-bootloader (20210116-1 -> 20210118-1)
uboot-raspberrypi (2020.07-2 -> 2021.01-1)
at first reboot i experienced a bootloop related to xhci usb in first stages, i'm just using an usb-sata converter and à keyboard. i had to remove the keyboard to boot normally. Second thing, i have no more display with my hdmi to vga converter.
so i decided to use Grayski repo and install linux-raspberrypi4-5.4.83-5, and all problems gone.
As i can see in the repo the kernel kernel 5.10.7-4 is available but not upgraded with pacman -Syu, i'm still stuck to 5.4.83-5. I'm i missing something?
Did anyone experienced such annoyances with 5.10.8-1 kernel ?

I don't run the mainline kernel so I don't know about your issues with it. As to your 2nd issue with the raspberrypi kernel:
$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('milstn', '.')..
so i decided to use Grayski repo and install linux-raspberrypi4-5.4.83-5, and all problems gone.

If you're running the linux-aarch64 package, pacman has no reason to pull from my repo since I am only hosting the linux-raspberrypi4 kernel. If you installed that package but got version 5.4.83-5, you did not follow step correctly:

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('repo-ck', '
')1. Add this repo to /etc/pacman.conf by pasting the following entry ABOVE the current official Arch ARM repos:

[graysky]
Server = http://repo-ck.com/aarch64-test

I have also updated my PI4s (8GB Models) to the latest linux-aarch64-5.10.9-1 and uboot-raspberrypi-2021.01-1 and have similar behaviour regarding the USB Ports.

My RPI4s run from MicroSD with a SSD attached via a USB3 to SATA cable. This works fine so far.

But anything USB 2.0 does not work at all (I tried Keyboard/Mouse and a Scanner). If they are connected during boot, the dmesg has Logs similar to this:

$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', '
Dez 21 04:51:50 lxdpi04 kernel: usb 1-1: new high-speed USB device number 4 using xhci_hcd
Dez 21 04:51:50 lxdpi04 kernel: xhci_hcd 0000:01:00.0: Setup ERROR: setup address command for slot 1.
Dez 21 04:51:50 lxdpi04 kernel: xhci_hcd 0000:01:00.0: Setup ERROR: setup address command for slot 1.
Dez 21 04:51:50 lxdpi04 kernel: usb 1-1: new high-speed USB device number 5 using xhci_hcd
Dez 21 04:51:50 lxdpi04 kernel: xhci_hcd 0000:01:00.0: Setup ERROR: setup address command for slot 1.
Dez 21 04:51:50 lxdpi04 kernel: xhci_hcd 0000:01:00.0: Setup ERROR: setup address command for slot 1.
')
(Ignore the time, which is due to missing RTC at this stage)

USB 2.0 devices plugged in after boot do nothing at all (means, no dmesg activity or similar, tried on 2.0 and 3.0 Ports). Plugging in a USB 3.0 device does work and the device can be used afterwards (only if connected to the 3.0 Ports). All the tested USB 2.0 devices where working fine with linux-aarch64-5.8.x before.

Since the Pis run headless I can't say anything about the HDMI Problems.

you're right, that was my fault i inserted the repo after not above. now everything is ok i have kernel 5.10.7-4 and currently upgrading to 5.10.9-1.
thank you.

May be the problem is with uboot, my usb-sata adapter is usb 2.0 and works fine during early boot, the only problem was with keyboard. Plugged in after boot the keyboard works normally. And now with kernel 5.10.7-4 problems with display are back, it's not a black screen , but flickering a lot.
