mainline uboot for odroid n2

Postby muddI » Wed Oct 06, 2021 4:30 am

Hi all,
wanted to try out the mainline uboot for odroid n2.
saw that there is a "alarm/uboot-odroid-c2-mainline 2019.07-1" in the repo but none for the n2.

Is there any technical/functional reason that the n2 package is not in the repo?
just wanted to ask before I start...

You could try the corresponding Manjaro ARM package. Since Manjaro ARM resides downstream of Arch Linux ARM, I would expect this to work (although you might need to verify what kernel parameters are needed. To that end, check their device profiles.)

Maybe I'm wrong, but I fear that this package does not provide a mainline u-boot,
it's the hardkernel 2015.01 uboot.

No, you are quite right, Manjaro provides the Hardkernel-tailored version of uboot. I missed the part of you asking explicitly for a mainline version of uboot, sorry.

Alas, I don't own an N2 myself, and Google has revealed nothing on the subject of mainline-uboot on the N2.
My suggestion to you at this point is to either consult the Manjaro ARM forums for advice, or to see if you can proceed analogously to the steps in the C2 mainline PKGBUILD.
