bsdtar: Failed to set default locale

Postby YuTendo » Thu Mar 07, 2024 1:14 pm

Hi everyone,

I hope someone can help me to fix this issue. When building the image (e.g., mkinitcpio -P), it prints at the end "bsdtar: Failed to set default locale". I just don't understand why.

I executed "locale-gen":
[root@mqtt /]# locale-gen
Generating locales...
de_DE.UTF-8... done
de_DE.ISO-8859-1... done
de_DE.ISO-8859-15@euro... done
Generation complete.
...and set the default locale:
localectl set-locale LANG=de_DE.UTF-8

[root@mqtt /]# cat /etc/locale.conf
LANG=de_DE.UTF-8
Where is the issue? (I also did restart the session, rebooted the system, ...)

Thank you!

Best regards,
Yu

in /etc/local.gen, uncomment

C.UTF-8 UTF-8

then run

sudo locale-gen
